Baby Luke's Birth Story

Well this pregnancy started out very textbook but ended up being very non-textbook. We found out in January that we were expecting our 3rd child. Due date of October 27th 2010. In June we found out we were expecting a baby boy. We chose Luke because daddy and I both liked the name. William after your Pa Pa, who you will only know from pictures as he went to Heaven before you were born.

On September 21, you tried to escape a little too early. Mommy and Daddy went to the Hospital and luckily we kept you in for another few weeks. A week later you did a nice flip into a breech position and caused a lot of worrying. Luckily the next week you were back heads down. Mommy had been having contractions on and off but nothing regular. On October 14th at around 8:30am the contraction became regular and we decided it was time to head down to the hospital.

Once we got there we were checked and monitored. I was dilated to 5 centimeters so there was no turning back. We go to a room around 1:30 p.m. and they broke my water around 2 p.m. Things slowed down a bit and we waited. At around 8:15 p.m. the nurse checked and said it was time to start pushing. At 9:01 p.m. you entered the world. It took you a minute but you began screaming and were mad. You were grunting quite a bit because you inhaled a lot of fluid. They took you to the nursery right away and your breathing got much better. They brought you up to us around 11:30 p.m. We are totally in love and so proud to have you in our house. Madalyn and Cole adore you! A true blessing!
