Happy 8th Birthday

My Dearest Madalyn,
It was about this time 8 years ago we found out that you would have to travel down to Texas Children's because your O2 Sats were not were they are suppose to be.  What a whirlwind those 16 days were...   Today you are a thriving 2nd grader with the need to succeed.  Daddy and I are so very proud of you! I hope that you had a wonderful day as we celebrated you!  I was able to come see you at school and brought you Chick Fil a and a cupcake.  After school we opened presents and then headed over to eat at Clay's.  It was pretty cool bc "Happy 8th Birthday, Madalyn" was scrolling across the sign.  More presents and cake.  We were able to celebrate with Me Ma, Gammy, & Papa.

Nightly Prayers

Cole has recently been introduced into the world of texting.  He just has our contact info.  As I put Cole to be tonight we said our nightly prayers.  We always end our prayers with, "And tell Pa Pa that we said hello, and that we love him."  Cole looked at me and said.  I wish I had Pa Pa's contact information.  At first I understand and I questioned him.  Then he said, "You know so I can text him in Heaven."  Melts my heart!

I told him that he can always talk to his Pa Pa in Heaven if he wants too.

This is a picture of Pa Pa holding Cole, the day he was born.

Lukey

How can it be that my baby is almost 3...  It is crazy.  How much you have grown in the past 3 years is incredible and it is so fun to see your personality...  And a ton of that you have :-)  You enjoy going to pre-school at St. John's.  This year you are blessed with two wonderful teachers, Ms. Sarah and Ms. Jana.  You like to be a helper and do it yourself which can sometimes be difficult because you live in a house with two older siblings.  And you like to be STUBBORN and that you can be!  I have learned that if I take a step back and let you work to do it, you are successful.  It's just that sometimes life has to move a bit faster than a 2 year old.  You are pretty busy taking Soccertots at school, swim lessons and gymnastics.  So far you love all 3.

This picture shows how you truly feel about taking pictures these days...

This is Cole...

Cole is now 5 years old.  We celebrated his birthday this year with an Angry Bird Star Wars Party.  Cole finished up St. John in May and after a few weeks of Summer Camp School.  We started Kindergarten.  His teachers name is Ms. Taylor and so far we have gotten lots of good reports.  One thing pretty cool is that you are reading.. Like pick up any book and can read it.  In the Spring I put you in Head Start to Reading, we then did part two and the writing section.  While that helped I think you have an uncanny memory of things... You learning to read was like a light bulb switch coming on.

You are still really laid back.  Always have been.  In the winter you played flag football and then T-ball with a group of friend from St. John's.  Soon you will start soccer.  You will be on Team Colorado.  Cool thing about that is your jersey will be Maroon.

One thing you love is Country music.  One of your favorites is Cruise by Florida, Georgia Line.  You also love George Straight, Blake Shelton, and Jason Aldean.

Meet Madalyn...

It's hard to believe in less than a month you will be eight!  How can that have happened?  You recently started 2nd grade and were pretty excited...  You are in Ms. Thompson's Homeroom and Ms. Santori's switch.  With Ms. Thompson you will learn Language Arts and Social Studies and have Math and Science with Ms. Santori.  So far you are loving it...  We haven't gotten into the real meat and potatoes of 2nd grade yet but I know you will be successful.  You were so successful with Ms. Getschmann (Kindergarten) and Ms. Dupre' (1st Grade) so I am not very worried.

One of your passions is Dancing.  You jump and twirl all over the house.
You are on the competition team at APAC (Abbots Performing Arts Center)  You are about two start your third year there.  So far you have take Ballet, Tap, and Jazz.  You like the Jazzy fun stuff but you are built like a ballerina.  Everyone talks about your feet.  Your dance teachers take pictures of your feet and your tumbling coach talked about them too.  I'm not 100% sure why but I guarantee they are going to do great things.  I can still remember taking you to Dr. Patel when you were a few months old.  And asking him about your tiny little feet.  He just gave me one of his looks :-)

And here are some your pictures from your Nationals Competition at Moody Gardens in Galveston.

New Beginnings...

So I have had this blog for years..  I always say I will go back and fill in, then never do...  So now maybe if I start from here I will keep up...  Crossed Fingers for new beginnings.  :-)
